Dear Ukrainian family

Today we are celebrating Shevchenko’s anniversary.
Taras Shevchenko was born in the Ukrainian land, but is one of those people, whose ideas are close to all mankind.
Although Shevchenko lived more than 150 years ago, the poet's words and thoughts are still relevant today.
Shevchenko - is the one who lives inside us and around us - in the songs, the landscapes, in wishes of happiness and love, in struggle foe dignity.
The main proof that poetry of Shevchenko is still alive and is need in the most difficult times is the image of the first hero of Heaven hundreds Sergei Nigoyan.
Perhaps each of you remembers this young man with Kobzar in his hands, who became the first victim of the shootings on the Maidan.
Why did he read Kobzar? What was he looking for? What has he revealed?
He revealed the truth for struggle and for unity.
Unity is most urgent testimony of the Great Kobzar. Our response to all threats must be in unity - the unity of the Ukrainian nation around the highest values - the establishment of a sovereign, independent, democratic and legal Ukraine.
