Australia is the leading trade partner of Ukraine in Oceania.
According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, during first seven months of 2020 the total trade turnover between Ukraine and Australia reached USD 36,7 mln, that is 34,6% less than past year.
Export of goods from Ukraine to Australia reached USD 21,7 mln (2,8% decrease), and import – USD 14,9 mln (56% decrease).
Major Ukrainian export commodities included edible oils, metallurgy and machinery, vessels, as well as fertilizers.
In its turn, Australia exported to Ukraine pharmaceutics, machinery, optics, jewelry, carton and paper.
The volume of bilateral trade in services during first half of 2020 was USD 4,6 mln (out of which export – USD 4 mln and import – USD 0,6 mln). The main types of the services provided by Australian and Ukrainian companies were logistics, telecommunication and tourism.
As of August 2020, the volume of direct Australian investments into Ukraine amounted to more than USD 2 mln. The largest share of funding was invested into retail trade, information technology and telecommunications.
