Christmas in Canberra started with a Ukrainian Vertep.

The event, initiated by the Ukrainian Embassy in Australia with the support of the Ukrainian community of Sydney and the Sydney Department of UYA, was held at the Canberra Multicultural Center, located in the heart of the Australian capital.

As a basis for the presentation of Ukrainian Christmas traditions, a traditional Vertep was used. The guests of the event, among the representatives of the Australian authorities and the diplomatic corps accredited in Australia, had the opportunity to hear Ukrainian Christmas carols, to see samples of the traditional Ukrainian embroidered costume, to get acquainted with the traditions of the Christmas table.

Especially foreign visitors were impressed by the large-scale theater and interesting stage dialogues, specially translated into English, and also by the actors from the Ukrainian youth of Australia.
