Dear Ukrainian community in Australia and New Zealand!

I sincerely congratulate you on the most important national holiday - the Independence Day of Ukraine!

The role of the international Ukrainian diaspora in the struggle to restore and preserve the Ukrainian state cannot be over-estimated.

It is unbelievable that Ukraine must fight for its right to independence and sovereignty, defending its territory and defending the rights and freedom of its citizens on this, the 25th anniversary of independence.

Therefore, on this most important Ukrainian day, I sincerely thank all those who have invested and continue to invest in Ukraine with their faith and effort, those who protect and help to defend Ukraine from the enemy, and those who work to increase Ukraine's prosperity and renown.

Any nation, especially a young one, needs the faith and support of both its residents and the international community, therefore I urge all Ukrainian Australians and New Zealanders to unite and work together for the prosperity of Ukraine. Be successful and worthy your countries because when you are appreciated in good repute, you will be good ambassadors for Ukraine. Actively cooperate with the politicians whom you elected to the Parliament, who often address questions regarding support for Ukraine.

Be proud to be Ukrainian. Support one another - go to events organised by your state communities, speak to one another in Ukrainian, teach your children about Ukrainian language and culture.

Most importantly, love your original, as well as your adopted, homeland. Speak positively about Ukraine. Our enemies will speak ill of us but we need to be supportive of our Ukraine.

Today in Ukraine there is a movement for change. Today Ukraine stands as a united nation. Today Ukraine is a country with a younger generation who are ready to take control of their own lives.

This why I believe that Ukraine will overcome. Truth is on our side! God is with us! The Ukrainian diaspora is with us!
