The event, initiated by the Ukrainian Embassy in Australia with the support of the Ukrainian community in Canberra, traditionally took place on the basis of the Ukrainian Orthodox Center located in the Australian capital.
The Ukrainian diplomatic institution in Australia, in cooperation with the Ukrainian community, annually tries to reveal to the inhabitants of the Green Continent some of the richest Ukrainian culture. “This year we proudly show the paintings, music and cultural traditions of the Ukrainian Carpathians”, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Mykola Kulinich, said in his welcoming address.
Guests from the Australian politician, a foreign diplomatic corps accredited in the Australian capital, and Australian Ukrainians, had the opportunity to hear authentic Carpathian melodies performed by the multicultural band "Jaga Band" from Sydney. The light, dynamic, exciting melodies performed by the violin, the cymbals and the accordion allowed guests to sink into the distant Ukrainian mountains and feel the spirit of the boundless will and freedom-loving inherent in the Ukrainian people.
Painting of the Carpathian region was presented to foreign guests by a well-known master of the brush from Vinnytsia, one of the brightest representatives of the National Union of Professional Artists of Ukraine Volodymyr Voroniuk. His works "Summer in the Carpathians", "Girl in a Wreath", "Mountain River", "Bukovynka" and others impressed guests with rich, sophisticated colors.
Great interest in the guests of the event caused the opportunity to personally paint a Carpathian pysanka, which was provided by the artist Lesya Pukhalska.
