August 9, 2012 Mr Lyubomyr Goncharuk, Head of the delegation of the State Service of Geology and Subsurface of Ukraine, Mr Maksym Maksimentsev, Deputy Board Chair of the NJSC “Nadra Ukrayny”, Mr Stanislav Stashevskyi, Charge d'Affaires a.i. of Ukraine to Australia and Mr Petro Lutak, Chairman of the Ukrainian Council of New South Wales (on behalf of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations) met with the representatives of the Department of Resources, Energy and Tourism of Australia, Australian Trade Commission, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia,Minerals Council of Australia and Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The delegation of the State Service of Geology and Subsurface of Ukraine visited Australia August 4-11, 2012 to participate in the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane (Queensland) and to hold meetings with Australian federal and regional governmental and business officials.

In particular, Ukrainian delegates met with the representatives of the world's largest TNCs «BHP Billiton»and«Rio TintoGroup»as well as a number of other Australian and foreign companies and specialized organizations.

At the 34th IGC Ukrainian delegation showed the exhibition box about the potential of Ukraine for more than 2 thousand of the attendees.

The conducted meetings and the exhibition box at the 34th IGC enabled to widely present the relevant Ukrainian capacities as well as to establish formal and business contacts between the State Service of Geology and Subsurface of Ukraine and interested Australian and foreign governmental agencies and private companies.
