Dear Ukrainians of Australia,
I sincerely congratulate everybody on Ukraine's Independence Day!
To the present festival, we approached with enthusiasm connected with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries, the 70th anniversary of the settlement of Ukrainians in the Green Continent, with the joy of replenishment and renewing the Ukrainian organizations of Australia, with sorrow from the loss of its senior worthy members - those, whom we call "pioneers".
One of the unforgettable events of this year was the joint gala concert on the 70th anniversary of the settlement of Ukrainians in Australia in the Melbourne Town Hall, where Ukrainian collectives from all the states were represented.
On Independence Day of Ukraine, each of us traditionally recalls, all that personal and beautiful, that connects himself with the historical homeland, weighs every word and work devoted to its revival and reconstruction, rejoices over the successes and achievements, worries about failures and trials.
And it's great! It's great that we are not indifferent, not tired, not detached.
Thank God, we have something to celebrate, despite the war in the East of Ukraine, because our army and people defended our land and stopped Russian aggression.
Glory to God we have something to worry about, because our Ukraine is transforming and changing.
Therefore, today, celebrating the most important public holiday, - Independence Day of Ukraine, I traditionally thank all for the support and assistance and call for unity and cooperation.
Let mutual respect and mutual assistance become slogans of your activity.
Help each other, take care of elderly, support the young.
May God send health and fortitude to every family, strengthen faith in victory and love for the homeland.
May He give our mother Ukraine freedom from external and internal enemies, good fortune and prosperity.
Glory to Ukraine!
