On 17 February 2021, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia Dr. Mykola Kulinich met with Director of the Australian War Memorial Mr. Matt Anderson.

The parties discussed a possibility of introducing a Ukrainian audio guide as part of the Memorial guided tours. The War Memorial is one of the top-tier museums of Australia and is mandatory to visit by all students of the country. In 2019, more than 1 million people visited the Memorial.                

Mr. Anderson, recently appointed to this position by the Government of Australia, has shared with Ambassador Kulinich the plans to reconstruct the Memorial and to turn it into one of the most monumental war-history sites in the world. The War Memorial Director also noted his experience of cooperating with Ukrainian representatives while he worked at the Joint Investigation Team created in 2014 following the downing of MH17 flight.
