А new travel ban will be placed on all non-residents and non-citizens coming to Australia, effective from 9pm on Friday March 20, 2020.
From 9pm AEDT 20 March 2020, only Australian citizens, residents and immediate family members can travel to Australia.
All travellers to Australia are required to self-isolate for 14 days, either at home or in a hotel.
The Department of Home Affairs advises that individuals will be able to transit through the airport, as long as they stay in the airport zone. If individuals have a significant layover, they must self-isolate in the airport or in accommodation for the transit period. There are no time limits as long as they stay in the airport and/or overnight accommodation.
