Foreign Affairs Minister Nanaia Mahuta unveiled an additional set of 23 sanctions as a continuation of New Zealand's response to Russia's unlawful and unwarranted attack on Ukraine. These newly-imposed sanctions specifically focus on Russia's military-industrial complex, paramilitary groups, and individuals engaged in the illegal transportation and deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. Furthermore, several more Belarusian financial institutions are now targeted in response to the escalating support provided by Belarus in aid of Russia's military aggression in Ukraine.
“Aotearoa New Zealand continues to stand in support of Ukraine and condemns the individuals and entities contributing to Russia’s abhorrent actions,” Nanaia Mahuta said.
