New Zealand has provided 1.2 NZD to the United Nations Development Programme's Mine Action Programme, which has been working towards eliminating the threat posed by land mines in Ukraine since 2016. This contribution aligns with the call from Ukraine's Ten Point Peace Formula to prevent ecocide, particularly through investing in de-mining.
New Zealand has also committed 500,000 NZD to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for its work in Ukraine to maintain nuclear safety and security and a further 3 million NZD in recovery and reconstruction assistance for Ukraine, and will impose further sanctions against Russian and Belarussian individuals and entities.
