Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, addressed the audience of the 1400 delegates attending the Australian Local Government annual conference in Canberra. Vasyl Myroshnychenko had an opportunity to provide an update on the challenges our local governments and communities have to deal with these days especially following the drastic consequences of the Russian deliberate destruction of the Kakhovka dam, pollution of the Ukrainian arable lands with the explosive ordnance, rebuild of the critical infrastructure, including schools and hospitals. Mr Myroshnychenko also welcomed the first sister city cooperation agreement which was recently concluded between the City of Tea Tree Gully in SA and Borodianka & the decision of the Melbourne city council to sever ties with St. Petersburg.
