From 2 to 6 February 2026, at the invitation of the New Zealand side, H.E. Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia and New Zealand, paid a working visit to New Zealand (Auckland and Waitangi) to participate in events marking Waitangi Day, New Zealand’s national holiday, and to hold a series of meetings with senior New Zealand officials.
During the visit, the Ambassador met with Rt Hon Winston Peters, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as other senior representatives of the New Zealand Government and Parliament. The discussions focused on Ukraine’s urgent energy needs amid Russia’s ongoing attacks on critical infrastructure, the importance of continued financial, military, and humanitarian support for Ukraine, and the strengthening of sanctions against the aggressor state.
The Ambassador expressed sincere gratitude to New Zealand for its principled position and continued support for Ukraine.
