In preparation for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of birth of Taras Shevchenko with the assistance of Ukrainian organizations in Australia the Monumental composition "Shevchenko`s Thoughts" opened at the Ukrainian Orthodox Centre in Canberra.

Materials about the Monumental composition "Shevchenko`s Thoughts" in Canberra are also published on the educational portal "Taras Grygorovych Shevchenko" created by the Minor Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in preparation for the celebration of the 200th aniversary of birth of the Kobzar in 2014 declared the year of Taras Shevchenko.

In 2002 the Monumental composition "Shevchenko`s Thoughts" was presented by the Kyiv City State Administration of Ukraine to the Ukrainian community in Australia and was moved from Sydney to Canberra in March 2005.
