On February 23, 2014 the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine adopted the Resolution on the release of Mr Leonid Kozhara from duties of the Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

In this regard, in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine and orders of the Acting President of Ukraine, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Turchynov the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine continue to perform its functions on the implementation of the state policy in the sphere of foreign relations of Ukraine including maintaining the diplomatic relations of Ukraine with foreign states and representation of Ukraine in international organizations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the diplomatic missions of Ukraine continue full fledged performance of activities to ensure the national interests of Ukraine in the sphere of international relations, protection of rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad.
