On 23 November, the Embassy of Ukraine and the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations hosted an Evening to Protect, Save and Rebuild Ukraine to raise funds for UNITED24, President Zelensky's global fundraiser.

The evening included a speech of Ukraine's Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko, performance by Ukraine's 2016 Eurovision Song Contest winner, Jamala, a speech by renowned Ukrainian combat medic and Invictus athlete Julia "Taira" Paievska.

Guests also saw a performance by Sydney soul band The Bluesberries, who played their "Blue Skies", released in late 2022 to raise money for Ukrainian displaced people via UNHCR. 

Funds raised from the evening will be transferred via UNITED24 to rebuild a school in eastern Ukraine which was destroyed by a devastating Russian missile attack.

Top live auction items included a bespoke Paspaley jewelry, a luxury cruise with Ahoy Club and art works by contemporary Australian surrealist Charles Billich and the famed Ukrainian artist, Ivan Marchuk. 

The main sponsor of the evening was Tetra Tech and the Australian corporates including Nuix, E&Y, AWS, Fawkner Group, Herbert Smith Freehills, Scentre Group, WiseTech, King River Capital, Business NSW, Droneshield and all other guests.

The Embassies in Canberra donated gift baskets to the auction, namely: Canada, Chile, PNG, Croatia, Latvia, Georgia and Switzerland. The family of Ambassador of Ecuador Arturo Cabrero Hidalga donated a painting of Luis Millingalli for the auction. 

The evening was possible due to the efforts of Kateryna Argyrou, Nadia Mencinsky, Olha Olkhovyk,  Marta Artemenko, Justin Senko, Yana Mokhonchuk, Peter Kloczko and  Anton Bogdanovych, Stefan Romaniw, Jarema Poletajko and other volunteers.
