The third Friendship City Agreement between Australian and Ukrainian cities has been signed between the City of Gladstone and Melitopol.

Mayor Matt Burnett of Gladstone and Mayor Ivan Fedorov of Melitopol have formalised a Friendship Agreement on Monday, November 27. Originating from a 2022 National General Assembly motion, this agreement is a commitment to enhance mutual relations and cooperation.

This partnership takes on added significance as Melitopol is currently under Russian occupation. By establishing this friendship, Gladstone plays a vital role in supporting Ukraine's rebuilding efforts. 

The collaboration focuses on industrial and manufacturing sectors, green energy, trade, and economic recovery, along with knowledge exchange in various fields.
