The Embassy of Ukraine in Australia welcomes Australia’s announcement of an additional AUD 10 million contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund, reaffirming Australia’s strong and consistent support for Ukraine.
This additional assistance will help sustain electricity supply, heating, and the operation of essential services across Ukraine as Russia continues its systematic attacks on civilian areas and critical energy infrastructure, particularly during the winter period.
The announcement, made on 23 January 2026, brings Australia’s total contribution to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund to AUD 40 million. The Fund plays a vital role in enabling urgent repairs and the replacement of damaged energy equipment, supporting the resilience of Ukraine’s energy system and the protection of civilian life.
Since the beginning of Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion in February 2022, Australia has provided more than AUD 1.7 billion in military, humanitarian, economic, and energy assistance to Ukraine.
The Embassy of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to the Government of Australia and the Australian people for their continued and steadfast support of Ukraine, and for standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people as they defend their sovereignty and resilience in the face of ongoing aggression.
