The new pledge will cost $33 million and will take the value of Australian military support to $510 million, alongside medical and other humanitarian support and another wave of economic sanctions against Russian leaders linked to the country’s president, Vladimir Putin.
“I would like to thank personally the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, Deputy PM and MoD Richard Marles and Foreign Minister Penny Wong for the disbursement of another 33 million AUD for the recon drones for Ukraine and further sanctions on Russia announced on Feb 24th,” Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Myroshnychenko said.
