Minderoo Foundation has delivered 169 generators, worth A$3.2 million, to Ukraine in a continued effort to support millions of civilians affected by Russia's invasion. The generators, ranging from 30-60kW, will be deployed by Ukraine's State Emergency Service as part of the 'Points of Invincibility' project, providing stable services like heating, food, water, and connectivity to those impacted by power outages.
The donation, made at Ukraine's request, involved collaboration with the Polish Strategic Reserves Agency and the European Commission. Australian Minderoo Foundation, co-founded by Dr Andrew Forrest AO and Nicola Forrest AO, aims to provide essential services for hospitals, sanitation, plumbing, and schools, helping restore normalcy amidst the Russian invasion.
This effort follows the foundation's previous support, including a partnership with the UN World Food Programme and UN Food and Agriculture Organization, focusing on wheat grain shipments and agricultural assistance for Ukrainian farmers.
