On September 3, 2024, while in Sydney, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia Vasyl Myroshnychenko met with Head Coach of the Ukrainian National Rugby League Team Daniel Birdshaw and its manager and official representative of the Ukrainian Rugby League Federation in Australia Matthew Girvan.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale aggression against Ukraine, a number of Australian rugby managers and officials, as well as athletes of Ukrainian descent, have joined the Ukrainian rugby league team to help our team, as a number of Ukrainian rugby players have joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces and stood up for Ukraine.
