Ukraine was proudly represented at the National Multicultural Festival 2026, held in Canberra on 7–8 February 2026.

The Ukrainian Culture Stall offered visitors an immersive introduction to Ukraine’s rich cultural heritage. Guests had the opportunity to explore traditional embroidery and folk costumes, handcrafted items, design and heritage displays, as well as engage with stories, music, and elements of living history presented by the Ukrainian community.

Ukrainian cuisine was featured at a dedicated food stall, where visitors enjoyed traditional dishes prepared by the Ukrainian communities of Canberra and Sydney, reflecting the warmth and hospitality of Ukrainian culture.

The festival programme also included Ukrainian performances at the Glebe Park stages, featuring the Ukrainian Community in Canberra, the Veselka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble from Sydney, and the Australian Central Ukrainian School from Sydney. These performances provided audiences with a vibrant showcase of Ukrainian music, dance, and cultural traditions.

The Ukrainian stalls and performances were proudly presented jointly by the Embassy of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Council of NSW, UWAA Princess Olha Branch, and Stand with Ukraine - Canberra, bringing together community engagement, cultural heritage, and public diplomacy within a shared space.

Ukraine’s participation in the National Multicultural Festival 2026 offered an important opportunity to share its culture, identity, and resilience with the broader Australian public and to strengthen people-to-people connections.
