The Deputy Prime Minister of Australia, Minister for Defence, The Hon Richard Marles MP attended a meeting with the Ukrainian community in Geelong and spoke to H.E. Ambassador of Ukraine Vasyl Myroshnychenko. 

In an in-depth discussion on the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the most recent developments on the frontlines and Australia’s contribution to defending democracy and rules based international order were discussed. 

Ambassador expressed Ukraine's deep gratitude to the Australian Government for the military assistance provided to date and asked for support in 2024. 

The meeting was moderated by Dr. Michael Lawriwsky organized by the Associations of Ukrainians in Geelong and in Victoria and the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations.
