On 12 May 2025, the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, together with his wife and representatives of the Embassy, visited the small but close-knit town of Binalong, New South Wales.

The visit followed the widely publicized initiative of the local venue, Cafe on Queen Binalong, which introduced symbolic “tariffs” on American products to raise funds in support of Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression. The idea received broad public attention across Australia, demonstrating that true solidarity knows no borders or limits.

During the visit, the Ambassador personally thanked the café owners for their heartfelt initiative. Two important steps were agreed upon as a gesture of gratitude to the United States of America for its unprecedented support of Ukraine since 2022 in resisting Russian aggression:

• replacing the symbolic “tariffs” with a system of voluntary donations in support of Ukraine;
• properly displaying the U.S. flag, which had previously been hung upside down.
