The Embassy of Ukraine in Australia welcomes the launch of the inaugural Ukrainian Film Festival Australia (UFFA), which will take place from 27 to 31 May 2026 across several Australian cities.
Organised by the Ukrainian Arts Council of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations (AFUO) the festival aims to present contemporary Ukrainian cinema to Australian audiences, highlighting the creativity, cultural richness, and resilience of Ukraine. The programme will feature a selection of films that reflect the diversity of Ukrainian society and the experiences of Ukrainians in the context of ongoing Russian aggression.
The Embassy considers UFFA an important cultural initiative that contributes to strengthening people-to-people ties between Ukraine and Australia, promoting a deeper understanding of Ukraine, and supporting Ukrainian filmmakers on the international stage.
Screenings are scheduled to take place in Melbourne (Lido Cinemas, Hawthorn) and Sydney (Ritz Cinemas, Randwick), with additional events planned in Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra (dates and venues to be confirmed).
The organisers are currently seeking partners and sponsors to support the festival. Businesses and organisations interested in contributing to this national cultural initiative are encouraged to explore sponsorship opportunities across several tiers, including Principal, Supporting and Community partnerships.
