On 13 February 2026, on the margins of the 33rd meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group in Brussels, the Minister of Defence of Ukraine, Mykhailo Fedorov, held a meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Defence of Australia, Richard Marles.
During the meeting, the parties discussed Australia’s ongoing military assistance to Ukraine and prospects for further strengthening bilateral defence cooperation. The Ukrainian side expressed its deep appreciation for Australia’s steadfast and comprehensive support, including its active participation in the Ukraine Defence Contact Group and continued assistance aimed at enhancing Ukraine’s defence capabilities.
On 14 February 2026, on the margins of the Munich Security Conference, Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Oleg Shymanskyi met with the Minister of Defence of New Zealand, Judith Collins.
The discussion focused on strengthening cooperation in the field of rehabilitation and support for Ukrainian veterans, including the development of local capacities and the exchange of best practices. The Ukrainian side highly valued New Zealand’s continued support for Ukraine, including through Operation Tieke, humanitarian assistance, sanctions policy, and advocacy at the international level.
Ukraine remains grateful to Australia and New Zealand for their principled positions and practical contributions to strengthening Ukraine’s resilience and security.
