Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, participated in Land Forces in Perth, spoke during panel discussions and met with defence industry representatives to discuss support for Ukraine and opportunities for joint projects.
On 5-9 October 2026 Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, participated in the Land Forces International Land Defence Exposition in Perth. The event brought together representatives of armed forces, government agencies, defence companies and technology developers from Australia and other countries.
The Ambassador spoke during panel discussions and met with defence industry representatives to discuss support for Ukraine and prospects for closer Ukrainian-Australian defence cooperation. During a meeting with representatives of Thales Australia, he acknowledged the company’s contribution to strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities. Australia has donated 120 Bushmaster protected mobility vehicles to Ukraine, providing protection and mobility for Ukrainian service personnel.
Participation in the exposition provided an opportunity to share Ukraine’s experience of applying modern defence technologies in countering Russian aggression. Uncrewed systems, electronic warfare, autonomous platforms and the use of artificial intelligence are particularly significant in this context.
Ukraine has substantial potential to develop mutually beneficial cooperation with its partners by offering technologies proven in combat, operational expertise and the ability to adapt solutions rapidly to emerging threats. Joint projects between Ukrainian and Australian defence companies could help strengthen both countries’ defence capabilities.
