Ukraine continues to actively share its experience in countering Russian disinformation and psychological influence operations with international partners.
Ukraine’s Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, together with media expert Natalia Solyeva, conducted a series of engagements in Australia and New Zealand throughout March 2026.
In Canberra, Ukrainian representatives delivered in-depth briefings for Australian Government officials, kindly facilitated by the Information Advantage Centre of Excellence of Cyber Command – Joint Capabilities Group.
In New Zealand, meetings were held in Wellington with counterparts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade as well as defence agencies.
The programme also included public discussions and academic engagements at Victoria University of Wellington, University of Otago, and a dedicated roundtable at The University of Melbourne.
Ukraine remains committed to strengthening international cooperation in countering disinformation, sharing lessons learned since 2014, and building resilience in open societies.
The Embassy expresses its sincere appreciation to all partners and institutions who supported the organisation of these engagements. In particular, we thank David Capie, Rob Rabel, Robert Patman, Jim Headley, and Mark Edele for their support.
We are also grateful to the New Zealand Institute of International Affairs, the Centre for Strategic Studies of Victoria University of Wellington, Ukraine’s Honorary Consul in Auckland Patrick Gamble, as well as Patryk Blaszczak, Ambassador of Poland to New Zealand, for joining as one of the speakers and for their valuable assistance.
