On Palm Sunday, 29 March 2026 the Ukrainian–Latvian Organ Music Charity Concert took place at Wesley Uniting Church in Canberra, bringing together members of the diplomatic corps, Ukrainian and Latvian communities, and supporters of Ukraine.
The event was opened by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, H.E. Vasyl Myroshnychenko, together with the Ambassador of Latvia, H.E. Samija Šerifa.
The concert was organised by Sydney-based Ukrainian organist Dr Alexandra Sidorenko, who performed a programme of contemporary Ukrainian and Latvian organ music. Notably, compositions by renowned Ukrainian Composers Svyatoslav Lunyov, Vyacheslav Nazarov, Lesia Dychko, Svitlana Ostrova, Viktor Goncharenko as well as famous Latvian composer Aivars Kalējs were performed in Canberra for the first time.
The event aimed to raise funds for the Warmth for Ukraine campaign, implemented by the Future Ukraine initiative, which supports Ukraine’s energy resilience and humanitarian needs amid ongoing Russian attacks on critical infrastructure.
The Embassy of Ukraine expresses its sincere gratitude to all partners, organisers, and attendees who contributed to the success of this meaningful event.
