The Embassy of Ukraine in Australia has the honour to invite members of the Ukrainian community, representatives of academia, policy circles and all interested stakeholders to attend a public lecture by H.E. Mr Vasyl Myroshnychenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, hosted by the Australian Institute of International Affairs.
The lecture, entitled “Ukraine after over 10 years of war – is peace any closer?”, will address the current stage of the Russian Federation’s ongoing aggression against Ukraine and the prospects for achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace.
The full-scale invasion launched by the Russian Federation on 24 February 2022 marked a new phase of the war that began in 2014. More than a decade on, this war remains the largest and deadliest conflict in Europe since the Second World War, resulting in significant human losses and widespread destruction of civilian infrastructure.
During the event, the Ambassador will outline Ukraine’s position on key issues related to the war and ongoing diplomatic efforts, including the prospects for a just and sustainable peace, the evolution of current negotiations, Ukraine’s fundamental principles and red lines in any potential settlement, as well as the broader international context influencing the course of the war.
